Coming to jawar so-called Jolada Rotti is a part of Karnataka specially made in northern Karnataka. Roti is a healthy and traditional food made with sorghum flour.
This jawar roti is easy to make if you have the practice.
Usually, I make them once or twice a week. I make small, medium, and large-sized roti, and I am a bit good at making a large size roti.
Ingredients:
1. Jawar or Sorghum flour
2. Some glass of cold or warm water
How to make jawar roti?
Step by step procedure:
1. Take 1 cup of jawar/sorghum flour
3. Using hand or spoon mix the water with the flour
4. However the water amount depends on the type of flour whether it is good or bit course, so add accordingly.
5. Then by using hands really mix it well.
6. Now make small-sized balls of the dough.
7. Then put some amount of jawar flour on the rolling board.
8. Then make balls flat and place them in the flour.
9. Then with your palms slowly press the ball and rotate the roti, add more flour if required.
10. Now the roti is done.
11. Now by hands or spoon lift up the roti and place it in the hot thava.
12. Then spread some water all over the roti using a small cotton cloth.
13. Let the base cook and then flip the roti.
14. Invert and cook another side of roti on the thava.
15. When you see some spots and the roti has cooked well, remove and place the roti in the basket.
16. Now ready to serve hot or warm jawar roti with a regional Indian curry.
